Description
This online course introduces you to requirements and obligations of Fatigue Management, Speed Compliance and Heavy Vehicle Safety and Roadworthiness, Load Management including Mass and Dimension and Load Restraint as they relate to Chain of Responsibility and the Heavy Vehicle National Law and the key aspects of these risks and how to manage them in accordance with the Heavy Vehicle National Law.
This course includes five eLearning modules which cover:

Module 1. Fatigue Management – Provides an overview of the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) and Regulations requirements and obligations for Fatigue Management, an introduction to fatigue, recognising the signs of fatigue, and the causes of fatigue, compliance to the work and rest hours requirements. This module includes an introduction to the options for managing hours which include: Standard Hours, Basic Fatigue Management and Advanced Fatigue Management, record keeping requirements, and practical solutions and the key elements of managing the risks of fatigue in your business.

Module 2. Speed Compliance – Provides an overview of the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) and Regulations requirements and obligations for Speed Compliance, practical solutions and the key elements of managing the risks of speed compliance in your business, and specific requirements and obligations which include licence requirements, scheduling, speed breeches, monitoring speed compliance and speed limiter tampering.

Module 3. Roadworthiness – Provides an overview of the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) and Regulations requirements and obligations for managing Heavy Vehicle Safety and Roadworthiness, an overview of the National Roadworthiness Baseline Survey. This module includes practical solutions and the key elements of managing the risks of Heavy Vehicle Safety and Roadworthiness compliance in your business, and specific requirements and obligations which include the Heavy Vehicle Standards and Australian Design Rules, maintenance programs, reporting and management of defects, and record keeping requirements in accordance with the HVNL and the NHVAS Maintenance Management Standard.

Module 4. Load Restraint – Provides an overview of the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) and Regulations requirements and obligations for Load Restraint and the National Transport Commission Load Restraint Guide 2018 and the law, an overview of the requirements of the 5 Load restraint fundamentals which include: Packaging, Friction, Dunnage, Load Configuration and Lashings, and practical solutions to manage the risks of load restraint in your business including packaging, load restraint methods, and load inspections.

Module 5. Mass and Dimension Limits – Provides an overview of the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) and Regulations requirements and obligations for Mass and Dimension Limits, and an outline of the requirements for General, Concessional, and Higher Mass Limits, the requirements under the legislation for a complying Container Weight Declaration or CWD. This module includes general Dimension limits – width, height, length, and rear overhang, then requirements for Oversize and/or over-mass loads (OSOM), and practical solutions to manage the risk of mass and dimension limits in your business including scheduling loads, accuracy of information, and monitoring compliance.

Certificate - Upon successful completion of the three Modules and the assessment questions, participants will be issued with a Certificate of Completion.
